Please note for 2011 Cumbria Age Groups, qualifying times must have been achieved from 1st May 2010 onwards. This means that you cannot use times achieved in 2010 Age groups. The Autumn Series offers you almost all events that will be included in the Age Groups next year.
Copeland Graded
Regretfully, Copeland ASC have decided to cancel the 15th Graded Gala that was due to be held on Sat.23rd October due to the poor level of entries.

Results from the Workington ASC Open meet are now available.
From the 8 boys and 13 girls, we came away with 33 Pb's & 50 Top 6 awards from the 76 swims.

On Sunday 19th we will be taking part in CFM's Splash for Cash swimming challenge together with City of Carlisle SC.
Well done to Gazza for his terrific effort where he swam 310 lengths.
Hope everyone enjoyed it. I'm sure we swam 1000's of lengths between us and raised money for charity at the same time.

Sunday 19th September
CFM Radio's Drivetime presenter Gazza has been swimming each week to help him keep fit and to help him loose weight - he is half the man he used to be!
City of Carlisle Swimming Club and Carlisle Water Polo Club heard him talking about this on air and called to ask if he is Up to the Challenge?
On Sunday 19th September Gazza will do a 6 hour swim at The Pools, Carlisle and he needs to do more lengths and raise more money than the swimmers can in 3 hours.
We will have a combination of individual swimmers and relay teams taking part and it all starts at 3pm. Those taking part please be at The Pools for 2.30pm to help us organise who swims in which lanes etc.
Please help us raise some money for CFM's Cash for Kids, who help disabled & disadvantaged kids in Cumbria & South West Scotland.

January Timing Session
There will be a timing session on Sunday 17th January at 4.50pm in the 25m Pool for those swimmers planning to enter Cumbria Age Groups 2010. The timing session is for those who have not qualified for a particular event to give swimmers the opportunity to qualify for as many events as possible.
Swimmers can choose from the following events - the ages are according to the events swimmers can swim in Cumbria Age Groups 2010.:

Those aged 9/Over on 20th March 2010 can choose up to 2 x 50m swims or 1 x 200m swim or the 100IM
-
Girls aged 11/Over and boys aged 12/over on 20th March 2010 can choose 1 x 100 single stroke swim
-
Those aged 10/Over on 20th March 2010 can choose 400m Freestyle
-
Those aged 11/Over on 20th March 2010 can choose 400IM
Please note 2 swims are only allowed if the events chosen are 50m swims.
A list will go on the noticeboard after Xmas - email requests will not be accepted.
As always help is needed and appreciated. No experience or training is necessary for helpers, just enthusiasm and the willingness to give up a small amount of your time to help our swimmers. Please indicate if you are willing to help out by adding your name to the list on the noticeboard.
