Cumbria Autumn Series

These galas takes place on Saturday 19th November at Copeland, and Saturday 26th November at Kendal. There are Qualifying times (QT) and Upper limit times (ULT) for this gala, 
so all entries must fall between these times for each age group.

Medals will be awarded to the first 3 swimmers in each age group in each event.

Speeding tickets will be awarded to any competitor who swims more than 1 second faster than the Upper Limit Time for their event and age group

PRESIDENTS OPEN MEET

  • This gala will be held on Saturday 10th September 2011  and shall be run in accordance with ASA Laws and Technical Rules. 
  • The primary purpose of the meet is to provide a competition of medium distance events
  •  Age on the day will be as of 10th September
  • The competition will include the following age groups for each sex: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14/over
  • All events are classed as ‘Heat Declared Winner’ and seeded by entry time
  • Events will be 200m all strokes, 50m Free, 400m Free & 400m I.M.
  • Age groups will be separated for results and awards purposes
  • Results will be published in time order
  • Over the top starts will be in operation during the meet (except backstroke)
  • Awards will be made to the first 6 swimmers in each age group in each event

Copeland Graded 2011
 

  • The Copeland Graded Gala will be held on Saturday June 18th 2011 and shall be run in accordance with ASA Laws and Technical Rules.
  • This competition will be licensed at Level 4.
  • Entries will be accepted from any ASA affiliated swimmer.
  • The competition shall include the following age groups for each sex: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 years and over.
  • Upper limit times will apply to all events i.e. a swimmer who has achieved a time faster than the upper limit prior to the closing date cannot enter this competition (see below).

Session 1 warm-up will commence at 9.00am for a 10.00am start.

This years gala will take place on Saturday 7th May 2011

General Conditions

 

  • The competition shall consist of the following age groups for each sex:  9, 10, 11 and 12 years 
  • This event has been licensed by ASANWR at Level 4.
  • Upper limit times will apply for all events i.e. a swimmer who has a recorded time faster than the limit time cannot compete. (This is a requirement for licensing of the event.)
  • There are no qualifying times.
  • Over the top starts will be in operation during this competition.

 

Age on the day will be as of Saturday May 7th 2011.

Trophies and Medals

 

  • Medals and ribbons will be awarded for the top six places in each event and age group.
  • Points will be scored for all events by the first 6 swimmers and trophies will be presented to the boy and girl in each age group that have gained the most points at the end of the gala.
  • The overall best boy and overall best girl (based upon times of all events) will hold the Bill Griffin and the Monica Griffin Trophies respectively for one year.

Note from Organisers

Saturday morning (session 1) will finish about 12.15 to 12.30 when presentations are taken into account.

Saturday afternoon (session 2) will finish about 4.45 (including presentations). There will be a further warm up after the completion of the age group teams events and we'll aim to start session 3 (county teams events) at about 5.15pm. This should end just before 6.00pm.

AS THERE WILL BE NO EVENING SESSION - PLEASE ENSURE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS CHANGE
