Senior Water Polo
W/End 1 - Walsall Sat 17th September W/End 2 - Liverpool Sat 1st / Sun 2nd October W/End 3 - Basingstoke Sat 15th October
Start Times are provisional. Ladies Results from 2010/11 Season Another good weekend for the Ladies Carlisle Water Polo went in to the 3rd Division 1st weekend with a game against there old rivals from the 4th division South Derbyshire. Last season Carlisle only just won the duel buy a single goal. As a result we were determined to start with a high tempo.
Carlisle worked hard to control the game and with just under 5 min played Sam Barker shot and scored, the game was tight as Carlisle pressed hard to keep control then in the last minute of the first quarter Emma little netted from outside 5metre finishing the quarter 2-0
Carlisle then went on to dominate the game winning 15 – 3
1st Quarter 2-0, goal from S Barker1, E little 1
2nd Quarter 4-1, goals from E Little 1, F leighton 1, B Richard 1, S Barker 1
3rd Quarter 2-1, goal from K Routledge1, A Barker 1
The 4th Quarter was totally dominated by Carlisle winning 7 -1 with goals from E little 1, F Leighton 3, E Ironside 1, K Penrice 1 and B Richards 1.
Game 2 Carlisle v Invicta Invicta beat Carlisle in the 3rd and 4th division play off in our first season beating us by 1 goal scored in the last minute at Walsall baths. This was just what the team needed to spur then in to continuing the great start to the weekend. Carlisle won 14 -4 and were always in control
1st Quarter 4-0, F Leighton 2 and S Barker 2
2nd Quarter 6- 3, E Ironside 1, B Richards 1, K Routledge 2, and S Barker 2
3rd Quarter 1-1, K Routledge 1
4th Quarter 3-1, E little 2 and S Barker 2.
Game 3 Carlisle14 v Cardiff 4 Despite a few players unable to make the Sunday session Carlisle were full of confidence going into this game. But they were shocked into action when we conceded an early goal from some slack marking. Nothing had to be said to the player as they new they had to concentrate and fight if they wanted a 100% record Goals from E Little 2, E Ironside 1, K Penrice 1, A Barker 2, and the star of the show was Sam Barker with a 7 goal hall.
Overall, Coach Andy Little was very impressed with all the team, Special mention to Katie Penrice who was wrongly suspended for the first game in Walsall. To Amy Barker for scoring some quality goals. Emily Sutcliffe and Ailish Acton for an outstanding performance in goal also to Louise Murby for being prepared take the goal keeping roll when Ailish was unable to make the trip.
